Great crab cakes and great service. Neat old historic feel to this place!

I took my family there for brunch right before my change of command ceremony and we LOVED it. They loved all of the historical photos of governors, the food, the chai tea, and the mimosas. I'm new to the area and coming from the DC area, I am not a big fan of chain restaurants so this was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back again!!

Been here several times. We are not regulars. Because of the nice weather it was busy on the deck. But service was great. Food was great.

The Governors Cafe is a far, far better establishment than anything I've ever become accustomed to. The pub is the place where a person can go, have a drink, get lost in a book, their thoughts, or in conversation with one of the regulars. The bar tenders and baristas are always very friendly and have a tremendous sense of hospitality, the sort of everyday people that make you feel welcome to come back to the establishment time and time again. In a perfect world I would keep this place a secret and not have to share it with anyone who isn't already aware of its existence. Though the world I live in and I suspect also for you the reader, is not perfect. It is the duty of every patron who feels drawn to this establishment to share its charm so that this gem of Dover will be around for all of us like-minded and not so like-minded individuals for years to come.
